Another half of my part of the aforementioned housewarming gift for nestashouse
There is no story to it.  I thought the

horse could have been nervous about the ferry or the looming shadows of the mountains across.  The composition is shamelessly ripped from the Persian manuscript.  They have horse-talking, semi-exiled princes, too.

I like the horse better, too -- and no, the rider (who must be about 16 here) wouldn't let him do anything stupid. The water there is clear and shallow, and there is still a regular crossing. This should be seen as a Haradric illumination made some time late in F.A. -- they did portrait as best as they could within their style and imagery.
Have you ever seen Japanese scrolls about the first American expedition to the island?
