Self-hating

Phyloxena went to farmers' market with a neighbor and was surprised to realize that she was rather annoyed by said neighbor mentioning her Russian background at every stall.  I mean, not that I'm ashamed of being relatively Russian or anything.  Nor that I never abuse arguable advantages of being a foreigner and able to safely misunderstand (or, perhaps, pretend to) certain conventions.  But on farmers' market?  Bit irrelevant, don't you think?
