phyloxenaME again. What if Aragorn is not Isildur's hair? Like this:
Elrond: Mithrandir, there is a boy here... He's ranger's orfan, and a promising fellow. And already climbing the walls here. I wonder what to make of him.
Mithrandir: Tell him he's Isildur's Hair. I have a filing we'll need a Men's leader soon, mayhap it will work.
E: That will take some preparation. Good idea, thou.

Ten years later:
E.: Curse you, Mithrandir. You know what he did first after I told him? He decided he deserves my daughter.
M.: So what? What does she think?
E.: She thinks he's cute.
And, mind you, no one ever found out he was nobody.
